Our Testing Methodology
At WaterTechReview, we don't just read spec sheets. We put every product through a rigorous, multi-week testing process to ensure the data we provide is accurate and actionable.
1. PPB (Parts Per Billion) Testing
The most critical metric for any hydrogen water product is its output. We use professional-grade Sensorex SLF-A dissolved hydrogen meters, calibrated before every session.
- Baseline Testing: We test with standardized filtered water at 68°F (20°C).
- Peak Output: Measured immediately after the generation cycle completes.
- Decay Rate: Measured at 5, 10, 30, and 60-minute intervals to see how long the hydrogen remains therapeutic.
2. Build Quality & Materials
We inspect every component for safety and durability. We prioritize products that use borosilicate glass and food-grade stainless steel over plastics.
- Drop Tests: We perform standardized drop tests from 3 feet onto tile and concrete.
- Seal Integrity: We fill and invert bottles 100+ times to check for leaks.
- Material Safety: We verify BPA-free claims and check for any off-gassing or chemical tastes.
3. Real-World Usability
A product that works in a lab but fails in a kitchen isn't useful. We live with these products for at least 14 days.
- Battery Life: We track how many cycles a portable bottle can complete on a single charge.
- Ease of Cleaning: We test how easy it is to maintain the electrode chamber and prevent mineral buildup.
- Cycle Time: We verify the manufacturer's claims about generation speed.
4. Value Analysis
We calculate the total cost of ownership over 3 years, including replacement filters and maintenance, to determine if the price is truly fair.
